Description
The Professional PC Repair Program A Self Paced Program Course for PC Repair and A+ Preparation     ISBN #: 0-8273-6583-7 Instructor:  David T. Ronan Published:  1995   From: PCDI (Professional Career Development Institute): “The School Of PC Repair”. Up for auction is this (4) four full, 3-Ring binder book series on PC Repair, which contains over 1400 pages of study material and knowledge separated into 20 Lessons. This series starts as if someone does not know anything about PC’s, and will bring you right to where you can fix anything on a PC. It is more hardware oriented, but covers a lot of software diagnostics and solutions. Now, some of the pages have been written in, due to the fact that this was my main source in studying for my CompTIA A+ Hardware and Software Exam. The “Objectives” of the Professional PC Repair Program are as follows: Disassemble and reassemble a PC system unit; Identify the various pieces of a typical IBM-compatible system unit and describe what each does; Describe the various types of expansion slots that are used in PC’s; Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on a personal computer system; Diagnose and repair PC problems; Install and configure PC circuit boards and adapter cards; Describe the various types of memory and memory managers used in a PC; Upgrade and optimize the usage of PC memory; Explain the basic operation of a disk drive and how data is organized; Install and diagnose hard disk drives and recover data from a corrupted disk; Install and service diskette (floppy) drives; Install CD-ROM Drives; Install SCSI Devices (SCSI= small computer systems interface); Troubleshoot and repair common personal computer printer problems; Describe the operation of serial and parallel ports, modems, keyboards, and mice and how to service them; Describe the basic operation of video adapters and sound boards and how to install them; Utilize the Internet, the World Wide Web, and online information services to gather information related to PC Repair.       NOTE: There are a few minor things that were originally in the Series when I bought this that no longer can be found. There used to be a floppy disk that contained test questions, and there was a Job Search Manual. These items are not in the series that I can see!! All other text materials are present. I am throwing in a "Complete Hardware Dictionary" which I do not think was part of the course for FREE. There are over 1400 pages of text study, illustrations, quizzes, tests, etc. to teach yourself to repair you own PC, obtain you’re A+ Certification, or Start Your Own Business!! You will find this course invaluable in learning how to maintain, service and repair PC’s. I would like to stress that this is a “Buy As Is” item. This was a mail-order course I took through the “Professional Career Development Institute”. Original Cost of the Course at that time was: Over $650.00 Any questions, please contact me.  I like to know that people are getting what they expect!!***** MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER TECHNOLOGY BOOKS, OR ANY OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE CURRENTLY UP FOR AUTION, I CAN COMBINE ORDERS TO REDUCE SHIPPING CHARGES FOR YOU *****
