Description
Someone asked for pictures of the rear, so those are now included. I apologize for the dust & clutter, the system was building recovery discs for another computer, so I was unable to pull it out far enough to unplug & clean up. I've been building & repairing computers for almost a decade, and this system was to be the last major system before I made the transition to all laptops this fall. In that sense and purpose, it exceeded my expectations. But, a lack of time to spend gaming, some money issues (namely lack of job), and the fact I spend all my time on my laptops anyway means I need to try to sell this. Simple stats: Rackmountable black chassis w/ 750W PSU, Q6600 Core 2 Quad, 8gb RAM, 1.57TB net hard drive space, 2x DVDDL, 8800GTX, Vista Ultimate x64 But if you want the whole story, read on. So, the hardware. The chassis is a Chenbro SR10769 5U rackmountable pedestal case. It can sit on the floor like your standard chassis, or be rackmounted if being used in a server environment. It has room for 3 5.25" external drives, 1 3.5" external drive, and 8 internal 3.5" drives. EATX form factor means it will be long, but there's not a system out it cannot house. Its all steel construction embodies the term "tank". It's built like one and weighs about as much. All the fans are 120mm low noise. Took it from the roar of the original fans to a hum. I can swap out and put in those high airflow high noise fans if so desired. For the power supply, we have PC Power & Cooling's 750W Quad SLI. I've used their 1000W PSUs in the past, and frequently had them custom build them for me to suit some previous projects (a dual Opteron workstation, which was my previous system). They're the best in the business. Actual power draw as measured by my UPS is a measely 180W, 252W w/ my 37" LCD turned on. Processor is an intel Core 2 Quad Q6600. 2.4ghz, 1066mhz FSB, 8mb L2 cache, 64 bit capable, and virtualization enabled. 64bit and Virtualization were requirements for my system. It is cooled by a Thermalright Ultra 120mm, resulting in a cooler & quieter running system. Motherboard is in Abit IP35Pro. Considered one of the best intel P35 based motherboard, it features: Max support 8gb RAM 2x PCI-E x16 (1 x4 electrically) 3 PCI 6 internal SATA 2 external e-SATA 1 internal IDE 1 internal floppy Onboard 7.1 Realtek HD Audio 4 USB 2.0 (with headers for an additional 8 USB) 2 Firewire PS/2 2 Gigabit Ethernet RAM. I mentioned virtualization earlier. I built this system for two reasons. Gaming, and virtualzation. Virtualization lets me emulate other operating systems on the host system. So, the computer can be running Vista, and I can run XP on top of it. I typically ran 3-6 virtual computers at any given time. This requires a lot of hard drive space, and a lot of RAM. So, this system had to have a ton of RAM. Not 1gb. Not 2gb, not 3gb. 8gb. 4x 2GB OCZ PC6400 DDR2 RAM. Gaming, right? You wouldn't spend this much money if you weren't going to be playing videogames most likely. To that purpose, it has an eVGA 8800GTX. 768mb RAM, dual DVI out. It's been powering a Westinghouse 37" 1080P LCD. Crysis, The Orange Box, Unreal Tournament 3, Quake 4, Doom 3, Bioshock, Mercenaries 2, & more. This powered through them all at 1920x1080. DVI to VGA dongles, the TV out dongle, all cables are included. Optical drives are comprised of a pair of LiteOn 20x DVDDL burners. Black, SATA. Nothing too special. As far as the hard drives go, it has 2 Seagate 500gb drives (which were used for storage), 1 Seagate 250gb (which housed the operating system), and 1 Samsung 320gb (which I used for games). All SATA. All 7200rpm. New USB Keyboard & Optical mouse, + Func1030 GS gaming surface. Not the Dell keyboard & Logitech G5 v2 in the picture, as those will still be used on my new system. The operating system is Vista Ultimate 64 bit w/ SP1. 64 bit is required to be used for any system with 4gb of RAM or more. As far as additional software goes, I'm a fan of freeware whenever possible. OpenOffice, InfraRecorder, Alvira AntiVir, and VirtualBox for virtualization. I'll even toss in my copy of Unreal Tournament 3 for free so you can start gaming! All original manuals & CDs included.Insured shipping is estimated at $70. If it's less, I'll refund the remainder. It weighs in excess of 60 lbs, so it's going to be expensive to ship. If you'd care to pick it up, then of course there'd be no shipping on it. Any questions, feel free to email me. For higher quality pictures, ask what you want and I'll take a picture of it.This is set up for best offer, so send me offers.Absolutely will not ship it out of the country.
